Am I A Candidate For CoolSculpting?

Do You Qualify?
CoolSculpting Before and After

CoolSculpting® is a non-surgical procedure that eliminates fat cells by freezing them. This body contouring method has become a popular alternative to invasive, cosmetic surgery like liposuction. Both women and men can benefit from CoolSculpting®.

Because CoolSculpting® has almost no downtime, it is an appealing method for getting rid of persistent fat deposits on the abdomen, flanks, upper arms, and other areas.

Here are some common questions that people ask when wondering if they are a good candidate for CoolSculpting®.

I’m already on a weight loss regimen. Will CoolSculpting® help me lose weight more quickly?

CoolSculpting® is a body contouring procedure designed to get rid of stubborn fat, but is not meant to be a substitute for normal weight loss routines like diet and exercise. If you’ve already reached your weight loss goals, but are still struggling with areas of stubborn fat that don’t respond to exercise or diet, that’s where CoolSculpting® is meant to be used.

I am close to my ideal weight, but I still have “love handles”. Can CoolSculpting® help me get rid of these?

The waist area (love handles) is one of the most common areas to get CoolSculpting® treatment. Both men and women see successful results from receiving the CoolSculpting® procedure on their excess fat. The abdomen, flank, and inner and outer thighs are other popular areas for CoolSculpting® treatment.

Many of the examples of CoolSculpting® seem to be in the tummy or flank area. However, I have a double chin I want to get rid of. Can CoolSculpting® be safely used on my chin?

Everyone’s body stores excess fat in different ways. For some people, this means visible fat collects under the chin, this is the notorious “double chin”. This can be discouraging if the rest of your body is in good shape, but you still have stubborn fat under the chin. Fortunately, there is a specially designed CoolSculpting® applicator for this express purpose, called the CoolMini™. This allows our CoolSculpting® technicians to remove the excess fat from under your chin.

Can CoolSculpting® be used on the upper arms? I’d like to get rid of my “bat wings”.

Sometimes, as we grow older, fat can accumulate in the upper arms, causing the skin to sag. Women are more prone than men to be affected by this condition. This particular area is very resistant to diet and exercise, making it one of the more popular target areas for CoolSculpting®. There is a special cooling applicator designed specifically for the upper arms.

I am interested in body contouring. How is CoolSculpting® different from bariatric surgery or liposuction?

Liposuction is an invasive surgical procedure. Bariatric surgery is a surgical procedure for morbid obesity. CoolSculpting® is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment for people who are close to their ideal body weight. The biggest difference between CoolSculpting® and other procedures is that there is almost no downtime, and you can return to your normal life routines quickly.

I’m worried about gaining weight after CoolSculpting®. How can I prevent the fat from returning?

The CoolSculpting® procedure uses controlled cooling (cryolipolysis) to freeze the fat cells in the targeted area. These frozen fat cells die, and are eliminated by your body. Those particular fat cells are gone for good. After completing your CoolSculpting® cycles, ideally, you should make the necessary changes to your routines to maintain a healthy weight. This usually means adjusting your diet and exercise. Though CoolSculpting® get rid of unwanted fat, it doesn’t protect you from gaining new weight in the future. This is why it is important to assess your habits, and make changes to maintain the new, healthy you.
